Shelley Park
Shelley Park is a community organizer, educator, and performing arts director from Wilmington VT. Twelve years ago she answered a call to bring dance, theater, and circus arts to her rural community by becoming a founding member of the Wings Performing Arts Program. Housed in Historic Memorial Hall, it is the home of a vibrant arts experience for kids of all ages who show up with a question in their heart and a willingness to step in and step up to the stage. Shelley and her team have created a unique environment where student voice matters, creativity can flourish, everyone can belong, and the impossible becomes possible. She has written and directed several original plays, and makes it her personal mission to find a place for every student to shine. “My approach to directing is akin to that of a detective unraveling a mystery; searching for that nugget, that key, that last clue that unlocks something in a young person, allowing them to take the next step, while delighting audiences and themselves in the process”.
She has outfitted her orange Crosstrek with some stellar snow tires, ready to make her way over the mountain to the not-so-big city of Brattleboro, to explore the heartfelt mayhem that is Suess!
