The Quality of Mercy
Directed by Rebecca Waxman & Sponsored by Brattleboro Community Justice Center
New England Youth Theater partners with the Brattleboro Community Justice Center to present "The Quality of Mercy." This production will focus on sharing awareness of Restorative Justice with the wider community. Restorative Justice is an approach to justice that emphasizes offenders making amends to victims and repairing the harm that they have done to individuals and to the community. The performance will be a collaboration of youth and adult students, as well as alternating surprise groups from within the Brattleboro community, exploring relevant themes of justice, retribution and healing. Material will be offered from Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice, Lord of the Flies by William Golding, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, and many other great works.
Shows will be November 12-14 & 19-21, with evening shows on Friday & Saturday at 7pm, and matinees on Saturday & Sunday at 2pm. Purchase tickets online, or by visiting the theatre at 100 Flat St. in Brattleboro on Wednesdays from 12-5.
