Billy Higgins is an actor, director, and devised theatre maker. In his role as Education Director, he oversees the Town Schools Theater partnership with local elementary schools.
His original play, Hell to Pay, examining feminism and gender identities through the lens of physical theatre has performed throughout the Western United States & Canada.
His piece Pitchers to Privateers, linking the war of 1812 to major league baseball, toured by traditional sailing ship internationally in 2012 & 2013.
Among his performance experience is Mary Zimmerman’s Treasure Island (Berkeley Repertory Theatre & Samuel Becket Theatre, Ireland). Billy’s direction of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged was the Irish premier and invited to the Dublin Shakespeare Festival. He is also a performer with Clowns Without Borders.
Billy has coached, taught, and performed with: The Dell’Arte Company, The Samuel Beckett Centre, New England Center for the Circus Arts, Lynx Education Organization, Prescott Circus Theatre, Acrosports, Hyde St. Pier National Park, and Main Street Theatre (San Francisco). He served as director of the Guild of St. Patrick cultural education group for many years
Billy received his BFA from the University of Wyoming, M.Ph. Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland & MFA from Dell’Arte School of Physical Theatre in Northern California.
