Sadie Fischesser, President
Profession: Sadie Fischesser holds a doctorate in Sociology. She currently works for the Vermont Agency of Human Services as the Field Services Director for the Brattleboro and Bennington districts.
Past and Present Affiliations: Since graduate school, Sadie has worked in a number of non-profits. Her work focused on improving the lives of children and families with organizations such as Windham Child Care Association and the Northeast Foundation for Children. She is involved in a number of community organizations and is currently an associate with the Vermont Leadership Institute. Her daughter is an enthusiastic participant in NEYT activities.
Todd W. Mandell, MD, Vice President
Profession: Todd has 24 years in the practice of Addictions Psychiatry, and is currently the Chief Medical Officer of Community Substance Abuse Centers. He is a long time theater afficianado with first memories of music being the scores of "The Music Man" and "West Side Story".
Past and Present Affiliations: AIDS Project of Southern Vermont; The Vermont Association for Mental Health. Todd currently serves as the Treasurer for the Monteverdi Artists Collaborative in Guilford, VT
David Dunn, Treasurer
Profession: David is a partner at Phillips, Dunn, Shriver and Carroll in Brattleboro. He specializes in banking, corporate, and business litigation, including creditors’ rights and bankruptcy. He joined the firm in early 1996 after practicing in Boston and Washington, D.C. for over fourteen years. His background includes over twenty years of banking, corporate, business and commercial law and related experience.
Past and Present Affiliations: David currently serves as a board member for the Brattleboro Retreat and Winston Prouty Family Development Center, and serves as the Secretary of Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation. He has previously served as chair of the boards of the United Way of Windham County, Youth Services and Habitat for Humanity. David is a fan of theater of all kinds, especially when his daughter is gracing the stage.
Prudence Baird, Secretary
Profession: Prudence is a writer, educator and marketing professionalwith 25 years' experience working with clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to Hollywood celebrities. She holds a master's degree in autism spectrum disorders and is active in a organizations that advocate for the disabled.
Past and Present Affiliations: Board member and Secretary, Brattleboro Film Festival; Member, Fine Arts Committee, Brooks Memorial Library; Board member, Get Thee to the Funnery; Advisory Committee, Special Needs Network.
Amelia started taking classes at NEYT since she was seven, and she has not stopped since. She has designed costumes, stage managed, and acted in numerous productions at NEYT. She is also a part of the Mentor program. A sophomore in high school, Amelia also enjoys singing and reading. She is excited to bring more to the NEYT community!
Milton A. Eaton
Profession: Currently retired, Milt spent 15 years as a Director, Representative and Attaché for the US Dept. of Commerce and the Department of Energy. Earlier he was the Vermont Secretary of Development and Community Affairs in Montpelier followed teaching and selling his regional business. Besides active athletic competition he also coached national swimming championship teams. After naval service in the Korean War, he finished with an MBA from Michigan and had a corporate career with StanVac and Mobil Corp.
Past and Present Affiliations: A Windham resident since 1968, Milt currently is a member of the Brattleboro Energy Advisory Committee, Board member of the Ethan Allen Institute and Brattleboro Rotary member. He is also a member and sponsor of DACOR, CATO, the Heritage Foundation, CSIS and BPC in Washington, DC. Milt previously was a member, sponsor, officer or board member in innumerable community and academic organizations including the Brattleboro Center for the Performing Arts.
Profession: Scott works as a Financial Therapist, helping people gain clarity on their overall financial situation. He received his BS in Business from UMass Amherst and his MBA from Babson College. He holds several professional licenses.
Past and Present Affiliations: Scott and his family are enthusiastic supporters of NEYT; both of his children have been involved in productions at the theatre. He is also involved with the Brattleboro Boys & Girls Club.
Profession: Elizabeth has Masters Degrees in Divinity and Education. Between 1984-2000 she served United Church of Christ Congregations in Washington D.C., Connecticut, and Vermont. In 2000 she made a change and enrolled at the School for International Training, in Brattleboro, to become a public school teacher, Certified to Teach English to Speakers of Other Languages. For the past fourteen years, until her retirement in 2017, she taught (Kindergarten-7th grade) ELL students in the Greenfield, MA, Public Schools. Presently she is serving as a Para Educator, offering Academic Support for 1st Graders at Academy School in Brattleboro.
Elizabeth’s affiliation with NEYT began a decade ago, when her son Nick began participating in Melodramas; she continues to this day because of her belief that theatre is one of the best avenues to helping children and youth to gain confidence and find their voice. She has shared what a huge impact High School musicals and behind-the-scenes production work made in her own life as a very shy teenager.
Past and Present Affiliations: Elizabeth has been a Board Member and Secretary for The Windham & Windsor Housing Trust. She has also served on the Boards ofFor the website the Association of Religious Communities in Manchester, VT and the Yale Club of Harford in CT. She has Chaired the Board of the CT Conference United Church of Christ.
Sarah is a student and mentor at NEYT, and has participated in many classes and shows there. She is a sophomore in high school, and continues to work on her acting there too. She also enjoys baking and photography. She is very happy to be helping the NEYT community grow!
Remy has an extensive background in luxury retail operations as well as a BFA in fashion design. He currently owns and operates a restaurant on the square in Bellows Falls and is working with the community to help revitalize the downtown. As a child, Remy was privileged to see his grandfather perform many times as an opera singer which led him to pursue music and theater into his early adult life.
Profession: Shannon works at Green Street School and directs after school theater programs as often as she can. She previously worked as an actor and educator in Connecticut and New York.
Past and Present Affiliations: Shannon is an alumnus of NEYT, and currently serves on the board of trustees for the Vermont Theatre Company.
