I started working with NEYT when I was about 12 and was cast as Titania in the first show Midsummer Nights Dream, such a blast. I was driven away from NEYT for a while with life blowing me in other directions and now am so delighted to be back acting in the recent alumni productions with all my friends I began acting with years ago!
I’ve enjoyed participating in productions such as Tartuffe, NEYT anniversary show, Red Noses, Murdered to death and most recently, Midsummer Unrehearsed.
I am now working hard at keeping up my business Rosie’s Wonders. I create hand-woven scarves and shawls in luscious natural fibers and intricate designs; original note cards with whimsical hand drawn illustrations on post-consumer recycled stock; delicate necklaces made with semi-precious gems in snazzy color combos knotted on silk and artsy earrings in an array of stones hung on sterling silver. I am surprised everyday on how unending the work is for running a business and need to brace myself and remember to focus on one thing at a time. Even though I want to do everything at once! I always love when I can take a break and come down to watch a new NEYT performance with a friend. It always amazes me how much the theater has grown. I was impressed when Stephen showed me around the new theater when it was just being built but to see it all polished up and functioning is truly a sight. It is an inspiration to see a company beginning so small follow its passion fervently enough to become large and booming though still holding true to its small community charm. I look forward to watching the next NEYT performance and participating in the next NEYT alumni events!
