Hello All, Kario here!
Let's see, where to begin? My very first experience with NEYT was when I was 11 or 12 years old, when my dad took me to see NEYT's summer production of Jack and the Three Golden Hairs. I had two immediate reactions upon seeing that show. The first was, "What fun!", quickly followed by the second of, "I can do that."
Next thing I knew I was at my first melodrama camp, rehearsing The Emperor's New Clothes. I was hooked. After that, I immersed myself in as many shows, workshops, and classes as I could. From Romeo and Juliet (my first Shakespeare!) to Scapin, Wait Until Dark, and Taming of the Shrew (my last NEYT shows),the friends and relationships I made have lasted to this day, with some of the people now being my closest friends.
After graduating high school, I knew exactly what I was going to pursue, and moved to New York City where I currently live. I graduated from an excellent acting conservatory two years ago, and am earnestly auditioning, learning, and (yes sometimes employed!) working on honing and refining the craft that I love. The love that NEYT introduced to me. I have been fortunate to have worked on some great films and plays, one entitled Samuel's Game should be coming out soon. Also, I have reunited with Sean Fitzharris, and we have continued where we left off at NEYT, writing and performing in original comedy sketches. As well as performing this throughout NYC, we recently began a sketch web series. Check us out, more videos are popping up all the time! www.dvinecomedy.com
Love to all, Kario Pereira-Bailey
