Debbie Grossman is a director/choreographer, music director/educator, stage manager, pianist, and vocal coach who recently moved to Brattleboro, Vermont. She fell in love with opera and Gilbert & Sullivan in college and, for over 30 years, produced, directed and stage managed for professional theaters and opera companies in the Washington, D.C. Metro area, San Francisco Bay area, and Cambridge, England. While living in Berkeley, CA in the 1990s, Debbie got involved with summer musical theater camps and discovered a new passion. She co-founded Stage Door Conservatory, a 3rd-8th grade musical theater training program and summer camp. After moving to Maryland in 2005, she joined the faculty of Imagination Stage in Bethesda, MD as a K-12 educator, teaching musical theater classes and music directing for their summer camps. She offers private voice lessons for teens and adults, as well as audition coaching (music and monologues). Debbie trained in piano and voice at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Everyone can sing. That doesn’t mean that everyone has a professional-quality voice, or is going to sing solos in public. But everyone CAN sing, and everyone SHOULD sing. It’s fun, and it’s good for you!
